Hello everybody, I am Dr. Nick Riviera have noticed a distinct lack of weirdness about this place of late. Thus, I present you this: Frank Zappa’s opus, Billy the Mountain. You want weird? I’ve got weird. It’s long and funny, so sit back and weird out. Studebaker Hawk, Stu-de-ba-ker Hawk!

No playlist should be without Zappa.

My mom has this on vinyl. The first time she played it for me I was around 7 years old, and loved it thoroughly.
Once referred to a tree used as part of a climbing anchor atop a cliff as “Ethel”, and no one got it. Sad day.

My story is similar, my dad has the album and played it for me around the same time. Gotta love it.

<—- Tear in my eye that a younger gen is into Zappa. Been my all time fav artist since mid 70's. Saw him 5 times-have at least 50 albums. I don't think any passed off to my son-but I do remember him being 7 or 8 and repeating something he heard. "Wanna wanna wanna an enema..."

And as a father myself now, I fully intend to clue my kids into Zappa as well. There are so many things in daily life that trigger a Zappa line in my head. Muffins will always be the prince of foods, and nobody can mention Montana without the thought of dental floss.
My dad has a huge vinyl collection that includes plenty of Zappa, it was a privilege to grow up with access to it.

Oh man, I love Zappa. You’re going to have me listening to him all day tomorrow..
I just have to be careful to not sing it out loud at work.
